Class Assignment

This assignment is a valuable learning task for students of courses in data analytics. It consists of an exercise that requires reading 5 brief data analysis reports, and based on the reports the student is requested to rate the eight InfoQ dimensions that relate data-goal-analysis.

The five studies span different areas: air quality, economic indicators, quality of care in nursing homes, real-estate price predictions, and financial returns following initial public offering (IPO). 

 Going through this exercise exposes the student to the application of statistics in practice, to key questions that a statistician should ask, and to the link between goal, data and analysis. 

The task takes about one hour to complete. It can be used as a self learning exercise or as a graded task.
